The National Theatre Drama School presents
The Golden Age
October 26 - 29
‘Nowt more outcastin’!’
The year is 1939. Whilst on a hiking trip in the wilds of Tasmania two friends, Francis and Peter discover a lost tribe of Europeans who over generations of isolation have developed their own unique rituals and a language unrecognizable to the two men.
Dressed in clothing that has been passed down for over 100 years, the leader of the group Ayre asks to be taken to mainland Australia with tragic consequences for the tribe.
Based on a true story, Louis Nowra’s The Golden Age – is an otherworldly play that will entertain, thrill and challenge the notion of what it is to be an Australian.
