The National Theatre Melbourne presents
April 23, 8:30pm
Home Grown is the birthplace of original music theatre in Australia, and for one night only, The National Theatre Melbourne will host the first ever Melbourne International Comedy Festival edition, shining the spotlight on the most comedic offerings from the Australian-made stage.
Home Grown gives you an insight into the electric, creative process and the magnetic artistic collaborations of the country’s top Music Theatre writers and composers, sung some of Australia’s most dynamic and sought after professional music theatre performers.
Initiated by writing duo Nick Hedger and Ben Nicholson, Home Grown is now approaching its third year of success. The concept was originally based on the highly successful New York institutions Joe’s Pub and 54 Below, and is the only event of its kind in Melbourne.
For the first time, The National Theatre Melbourne will host this exciting event as part of its 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival curated program, which features a selection of local, regional and interstate comedic talent.
Whilst the line-up for Home Grown: Melbourne International Comedy Festival Edition is yet to be announced, this special event is sure to be a highlight of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival program.
