The National Theatre Melbourne presents
April 19-22, 8:30pm
If you’ve been in a relationship, you’ll love this show! The company that brought you the 2016 Melbourne Comedy Festival sell-out smash-hit Couples, return in 2017 with their new show, Table 17 that “hits you in the face like 50 bridal bouquets!”
Weddings are supposed to be memorable occasions. But this one might be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
In this hysterical comedy, John and Sarah start the day blissfully unaware of what is about to unfold - anything that can go wrong does, presenting a rollercoaster of outrageously inappropriate moments and the revelation of some rather dark secrets.
Phillip A Mayer’s Table 17 is based on real-life events, and focuses on the back table at a wedding reception, where an eclectic mix of estranged family members, black-sheep and assorted dysfunctional wedding guests, invited due to obligation, are seated. We all know that table…
“This is fly-on-the-wall, watching a train wreck happen comedy,” says creator, Phillip A Mayer, “The best Australian wedding comedy since Dimboola!”
Filled with social commentary, highly inappropriate – and accurate – characterizations and truthfully relatable situations, Table 17 is performed by an outstanding ensemble hailing from regional Victoria.
Here There and Everywhere Theatre Company was nominated for over 30 awards on the 2015 One Act Play Festival circuit including winning Best Comedy, Best Original Play, Best Director, Best Ensemble and multiple Audience Favorite awards.
